Product Innovation
Collapsible Shaft Concept
The images listed are the concepts ideation that I came up with to deal with the issue of creating a portable and easy-to-carry system to stow away the bulky shaft in the car.
Prototyping Phase
Dismantling scrap materials from used motorized scooters and bicycle parts, I helped to piece a rough prototype of how the concept looks like. This idea has also been brought up to the INdesign consultant which the company has affiliation to.
Some of the process involved includes drilling, cutting, spray painting and sanding.
Redesign of Shaft Holder
Some of the issue of the shaft holder was that it was shaky and not very ideal for supporting the weight of the shaft. The clamping system was also not very reliable as it keeps dropping.
A clip-on concept was proposed and tweaking the angle of the holder creates more ergonomic and stability.
